1. Describe: This peice depicts a pumpkin drawn with pen and there is a watercolor splash with orange, yellow, and red colors.

2. Analyze:The artist used lines to create movement.

3. Interpret: The meaning that artist is conveying is that there is a american holiday the artist spends with there family coming up.

4. Judge: I think the peice is successful because the artist used diffrent line quality's t create form and a light source.

Artist Statement:

My inspiration  for this peice is that halloween is coming up. Me and my family use to go to the pumkin patch when I younger and get pumpkins to carve every year when I was youger.

The process for my peice is starting off finding a subject matter, then doing four sketches of the subject matter in diffrent compositions. When i got my final paper I did a water color spash background with diffrent colors. When this dried off I started the outline of the pumkin then later created the diffrent lines and values in pen.

Title:Model

1. Describe:This piece depicts a zoomed in portrait of a girl that is smiling.

2. Analyze: The artist used value to create a focal point.

3. Interpret: The meaning the artist is trying to convey is that the girl is happy.

4. Judge: I think the piece is successful because the piece looks realistic.

Artist Statement:

My inspiration for this piece is that the girl looked happy in the photograph. I like to draw things that show positive

 feelings.

The process of creating this price was starting with grid and the photograph laying everything out. Later on i started to shade and make darker and lighter values.

My art piece looks like a structure of a chicken. The subject matter is a chicken. The title of this piece is Rooster. The element I used is form to create movement all around the piece.

The media I used for this piece is chicken wire. Some tools I used were rulers and a wooden stick holder to hold and support my piece. Some techniques I used were using the wood to hold the chicken up while I was working on it. I also cut big pieces of wire then cutting and creating the part I need from the pre cut wire.

My dead great grandmother inspired my piece. Me and her used to raise chickens together and the chicken was her favorite animal. This piece is very personal. This piece is suppose to represent something happy in the memory of my grandma.

My goal as an artist is to improve and to try and explore new things in the art world. This piece did help me get closer to my goal because I tried something I have never done before and took a big risk by doing that.

I learned that sculptures need to be layed out very well so you know where everything needs to go, kind of like a blue print. My piece actually turned out way better then I imagined because I made it bigger then my first idea. This piece will influence me to continue taking risk.

This piece depicts a evening sunset with trees and light poles out. There is a big storm cloud coming out from the side of the paper. The title of the piece is Sunset, because this is what is taking place. I used lots of lines to create movement around the piece.

The media I used for this piece was water color paint. I used small round tip brushes to create more fine details. I also used big flat brushes to create a wash on the underpainting.

Gabriella Perez inspired me to my piece because she did a landscape piece last year so it inspired me to do my own creation with that. My art piece shows my passion to take pictures of landscapes because my painting is of a picture I took with my camera. My piece shows a relaxing vibe with the sunset.

My goal as an artist is to get better over each piece I do. This piece did help me get closer to my goal because I honestly just wanted to throw it away but I followed thru with it and it turned out better then I thought it would have.

While creating this piece I learned that its always a good idea to stick with your project all the way to the end.  My piece turned out way better then I thought it would have been. Like I said before this piece is going to encourage me to follow thru on following projects.

My piece depicts a candle holder. It is a cylinder shape, and has cut outs in patterns. The title of my piece is light lantern. I used lines to create movement.

The media I used for this piece is clay. I used plastic tools, metal tools, circular sticks, ribs, and etc. Some processes I used was using the coils to make the shape of the lantern then smoothing it out. I also traced my designs out before I cute it out, which later smoothed in.

Bret Kern inspired me to do this piece. My art piece expresses a personal issue for my love for candles. My art piece should show positive  feelings.

My goals as an artist is to have growth and try new things. My piece did help me get closer to this goal because I tried something new.

During this process I learned there are lots of process that go into clay projects. My piece looks very close to what I imagined. This piece will influence future artwork by doing things I actually am interested in.

My artwork is a on a white piece of paper. It has a zoomed in sunflower on it, showing only the top half. The flower is colored with yellow, orange, brown, and black. The background is also colored grey. The title is "The Sunflower". I also used color to create a contrast.

The media I used for this piece is charcoal and also some soft pastels. In the seeded part of the sunflower seed I used crosshatching with the charcoal to create a more of a 3-d  look. I also used blending on the background and on the flower petals.

Robert Longo was my inspiration for this piece. My piece represents a personal issue. I tried to play the role of a happy, bright, pretty emotion in this piece.

My goal as an artist is to continue to have growth, this is my main goal. This piece helps me get closer to my goal because I learned how to use a new media.

During the process I learned that charcoal can be very messy while trying to use it. I also learned you can actually create something nice out of a mistake. I imagined my piece to turn out differently but I still think my piece worked out in the end. This piece will influence me to be more gentle on the paper, so I don't over work it.

The title of my peice is Major. My peice is on a big peice of cardboard painted white. It has a dogs face on it in pencil. I used lines to create movement.

The media i used to create my peice is carbaord, paint, and pencils. I tried using shading, modge podge, and also artist paste.

My boyfriend was my inspiration. My art peice resembles a personal issue. I tried to make the peice be happy and postive for remeberence.

My goals as an srtist is to have growth over the year. My peice didnt turn out how i wanted it to but i plan on redoing it to help reach my goal.

I learned through out this process some things i struggle with, like artist paste.  I imagined that my peice would have looked better then it did. This peice will influence my other peices so I can take more risk.

My  piece depicts the right side of a pineapple. The name o my piece is pineapple. I used color to create contrast, which shows the dimensions of the pineapple.

The media I used for this piece is acrylic paint. Some processes I used are combing darker colors with the yellow to show that the pineapple isn't flat.

Vincent Van Gogh inspired me to paint my piece because of how well blended his colors were in the piece.  I got the idea of the pineapple from how I loved spongebob as a child and so I wanted to paint a realistic one.

My goal for this piece was to make progress from my acrylic painting from the previous year. I definitely reached my goal because my piece did not look flat and it also had several shades of  color for pineapple and background.

During this piece I  learned how the difference is when you blend the colors completely rather than not blending at all. My piece did not turn out as I planned  it to but I think it still ended up looking good.
